Winners NDNA Nursery of the Year 2017 -
The NDNA Nursery Awards are the only early years awards voted for by parents as well as judged on excellence! A rigorous shortlisting process by the early years experts took place followed by submission to the judging panel.
What the judges said about Arnhall Day Nursery: 'Arnhall Day Nursery provides a stimulating, inclusive and engaging environment. Judges unanimously noted that all children were offered challenges and enjoyment through fantastic relationship-led practice.'
Winner Outstanding Contribution Award 2017 -
Our Nursery Director Stephanie Dodds, NDNA network Chair of East and Midlothian, has led the way in fighting for nurseries to either be exempt or have substantial reductions to business rates. She actively contributes to the NDNA Policy Committee and gathers valuable information to support her fellow colleagues and we were delighted when her dedication to the nursery sector was recognised by NDNA winning this prestige award.
Finalist NMT 2017 -
Arnhall Nursery is delighted to be finalist for both Indoor and also Outdoor Learning Environment at the Scottish NMT Awards 2017. The ceremony will take place on Friday 1st of September in Glasgow. Here is a little bit about what the awards are about.
The Scottish NMT Nursery Awards are designed to discover and reward the very best people in the Scottish nursery sector.
Nursery Indoor Learning Environment: This Award will be won by the nursery which has created an environment that most inspires and excites children. The entry will show how the nursery actively involves children in their learning, as well as celebrating their achievement.
Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment: This award will be made to the nursery which has, in the view of the judges, created an outdoor ‘living classroom’ that inspires and excites children. Activities that promote physical well-being, creativity and first-hand learning experiences will be sought.
Investors in People Platinum Employer of the Year Finalist 2017 -
We are very excited to have been identified as the very best Investors in People accredited organisations in the UK and have therefore been shortlisted for the above award. We will find out our official top 10 ranking at the awards ceremony in London on the 23rd of November.
Winner - Keep Scotland Beautiful Year of the History Heritage and Archaeology Award 2017 -
One Planet Picnic Pocket Garden is a competition that provides a great opportunity for pupils aged 3-18 to investigate their plant and food heritage, celebrate their culture and build and develop creative design skills. This year it is part of the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology partner programme.
All entries were designed by young people using plants that can be eaten, that attract biodiversity and which reuse something which would otherwise have been thrown away. Arnhall beat off 300 entries to become one of 24 finalist and went onto win the special category award of 'History heritage and Archaeology'.
Graded EXCELLENT in all areas -
The Care Inspectorate have awared our nursery the highest grade possible in all areas; a rare achievement. The quality themes it inspects include the quality of care and support, the quality of the environment, the quality of staffing, and the quality of management and leadership.
Investors in People Platinum Accreditation -
We are delighted to have achieved this amazing award in Feb 2017 . We are extremely proud of achieving this highest level of accreditation, once again recognising our investment in all our staff and our firm belief that our staff are our greatest asset. We are the FIRST nursery in Scotland to achieve this award and the second in the whole of the UK!

Finalist NMT Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment 2016 -
We are very proud of our outdoor environment which includes an outdoor classroom, daily forest school sessions and a large garden allowing lots of outdoor play and learning so we were delighted to have reached the finals of the NMT Nursery Outdoor Learning Environment 2016 Award recognising our outdoor environment.

Top 10 Award -
The daynurseries.co.uk Top 10 Nursery Awards 2017 highlight the most recommended nurseries in each region of the UK. The awards are based on over 22,000 reviews received between 1st March 2015 to 1st March 2017 from parents, relatives and guardians of children who attend the nurseries.
SOIL Award - The Food for Life Catering Mark is a widely respected scheme, supported by the Scottish Government, which is raising standards of food quality, provenance and sustainability in public and private sector catering. It provides an independent endorsement that caterers are taking steps to improve their food, through meeting standards on nutrition, freshness, sustainability and animal welfare. Arnhall Nursery is delighted to have achieved the Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark for serving fresh and healthy meals at its site in Dunblane.
Eco Schools Green Flag - After much hard work, a lot of help from parents and some great ideas from the children we are very proud to announce we have achieved our first Eco Schools Green Flag! This award is an international award programme that guides schools on a sustainable journey and provides a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.

Early Years Scotland - We are proud to be members of Early Years Scotland which is a national organisation that invests in our youngest children pre-birth to 5 years and delivers essential support and guidance to providers of early learning and childcare in every local authority in Scotland.

Forest School Association - The Forest School Association is the professional body and UK wide voice for Forest School, promoting best practice, cohesion and 'quality Forest School for all'. Arnhall Nursery is proud to be a forest school nursery.
Investors In Young People Scotland - The Investors in Young People award recognises and promotes employers working with Young People. We are delighted to have achieved this award in April 2015, being only the 3rd nursery in Scotland to gain this recognition. We are extremely proud of this achievement, once again recognising our investment in all our staff. Giving people opportunities to succeed is at the heart of our ethos and we recognise the value Young People can bring.
Investors in Children - We are delighted to achieve our Investors in Children Award in April 2015. The Investing in Children award recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative practice with children and young people and promotes the rights of the child.
Investors in People Scotland - We achieved this prestigious award in September 2013. We truly believe our staff are our greatest asset and were delighted when Investors In People recognised this.
Eco-Schools Silver Award - We are proud holders of both Bronze and Silver Awards in recognition of our commitment to being an environmentally friendly nursery. Our children are passionate recyclers & love nothing better than an afternoon caring for their garden. We are now working towards our Green Flag Award.
NDNA Award - Pear Tree Nursery joined National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in 2000. Their goal is to promote quality in early years care and education for the benefit of children, their families and the local community.
NHS - We were proud of our sparkling smiles when we were awarded Smile Too Dental Scheme accreditation. Each child in our nursery has a personal toothbrush and cleans their teeth daily.
Supporting Charitable Organisations
BBC Children in Need - This charity raises funds to help projects throughout the uk. Some of the Scotland projects that benefit are The Child Brain Injury Trust, Bookbug, Kids in the Street. Every year the nursery staff, children and parents participate in this national event.
Dunblane Soccer Team - In 2013 we donated £300 to our local soccer team. This was voted for by the parents and staff with a view to donating closer to home.
Strathcarron Hospice - Strathcarron Hospice's vision is to provide specialist palliative care services for the people of Forth Valley and Lanarkshire to promote the delivery of palliative care across this area. Arnhall Nursery raised and amazing £709.64 in 2011 for this charity.
Plan International - Plan is a global children's charity. They work with children in the world's poorest countries to help them build a better future. Arnhall Nursery has been sponsoring a child Monica Tembo, since 2012.
Harvest Festival - Harvest Festival is a celebration of the food grown on the land.
Mini Pots of Care - Every year, around 3,000 schools, nurseries and groups across the UK take part in Marie Curie's Mini Pots of Care fundraising activity. The children at Arnhall Nursery enjoy planting their daffodils and when they bloom in spring a fundraising event is held.
Wear it Pink - Wear it Pink's mission is to beat breast cancer by fund raising. Every year Arnhall Nursery take part in this national event.
Blind Children - No matter what challenges a blind child or young person is facing, or the individual needs they have, Blind Children UK will be there with them, every step of the journey. Every penny they raise will be used to directly improve a young life in a very real way. Arnhall Nursery supports this charity by fundraising.
Jeans for Genes Day - Jeans for Genes raises money for Genetic Disorders UK and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders. Every year the staff and children wear their jeans to nursery and provide a donation to this worthwhile charity.
